Chapter 1: Getting to school

There he was, fast asleep, in his room. As the morning sun hit his face, the alarm on his phone sounded. Derek didn’t hear it. The time passed suddenly he wakes up, and slides slowly off his bed. He yawns, picks up his phone and checks the time. His eyes widened and says, “Oh shit! I’m gonna be late!” He put his clothes on, runs into the bathroom and wets his hair. Then, he runs out, grabs his backpack and money and runs out. He barely manages to board the bus.

As he tries to find his seat he greats the many people he knows. Then, he spots his friend. ”Hey, whats up, man? Looking good!” His friend responds “Hey, dude! Long time no see.” “Dude, we saw each other like last Friday.” “Oh yeah…! Forgot. So what did you do on Saturday? Did you go out?” “As a matter of fact” Derek said, “I did with my lady friend.” He grins. “She knows how to kiss good. What about you?” “No man. I haven’t gone out since YOU - KNOW - FUCKING - WHO dumped me.” “Yeah well, you have to move on! There’s a lot of good fish in the pond, but you need the perfect bait! Hey Amanda, was sup girl? Well, we’ll get to talk more at school I need to see my lady friend.” Derek gets up from his seat and walked toward the girl he went out with.

“Hey, Lili.” Derek said. “Oh, hey Derek!” She said surprised. “I was just talking with my friends about our amazing date.” Said Lili. She and her friends giggled and looked at Derek. “And you know our kiss. “ “Oh yeah, it was nothing” he replied. He sat next to her. Lili looks at him, and says, “You know, we’ve been going out for a long time. “True that.” “And I’ve been thinking. We should stay together as long as we can.” “W-What? Uh… well that’s a big step, don’t you think? I uh… need to think about it…” Lili looks down and says “Yeah. too early, huh? I’m sorry, it’s just that- I think I love you.” Derek sighs, and says, “Oh, man…” “I said it’s to early, didn’t I- I’m

sorry.” Says Lili sort of upset “Well, its just that… its not the right timing, you know? We just need to give it some time.” “No, yeah, your right.” She responded, “but I guess- I guess I just wanted you know” they both look down, they look at each other, and they pause. Then Lili looks at Derek’s lips, and Derek looks at hers. After that, they kissed. For some strange reason, everybody seems to be watching them, and when they saw them kiss, they started saying, “oooohhhh.” but Derek and Lili didn’t care. When they finish kissing, Derek says, laughing “ Shut up! Hahaha. You guys are just jealous!’’ They all start laughing. “Hey uh- well, I need to get going.” Said Derek “ yeah, sure, go ahead” Replied Lili. Derek walked back to his original seat, with Daniel. “Wow” he says, “nice kiss.” Derek laughs. Now the only thing anybody on the bus can do, is wait until they arrive to school.

When they arrive, Derek gets out of the bus, he stretches and says,” there just isn’t anything like school.
